Add company values and questions to your workspace

💡Why should I learn this? A best practice when it comes to hiring for culture is to define specific company values or attributes and create interview questions that are designed to assess each value or attribute in your candidates. This feature allows your to store the content in your workspace so every interviewer or hiring manager can access it when building their guides.

Access the Workspace Focus Area feature

Product Tip

🪄 Users with ‘Owner’ permissions are the only ones who can access and manage Hireguide’s Workspace Focus Area feature.

Workspace Focus Areas are created and managed in the Workspace Setting page. Access the Workspace Settings via the Settings tab in the Navigation Panel on the left side of your screen.

In Workspace Settings:

  • Select the Focus Areas tab at the top of the page

Specify workspace values and add questions

In the Focus Areas page, to add a new focus area:

  • Click Add workspace focus area
  • Type in the company value or attribute
  • Click Next

This will bring you to the page where you’ll create and store your interview questions for that focus area.

You can select a question from those suggested by Hireguide or you can create your own. If you create your own, remember you can use the ‘Auto-generate’ feature to help you write the question and answer tips.

When you’re finished creating questions for that focus area, click Save. The content for that focus area is now stored in your company’s workspace.

You can view, edit, and delete content for your focus areas directly from the table in the Focus Areas tab (see screenshot in the previous section of this article).

Access Workspace Focus Area content when creating an interview guide

Once you have created and saved Workspace Focus Area content to your company’s workspace, that content will appear every time a user in your workspace creates an interview guide.

First, it will appear in the skills chooser as a separate category of skills to choose from:

Then, the associated questions will appear in the questions page when users are building an interview guide, so all users can select from the specific set of questions for the company.
