Score during an interview and auto-populate a scorecard

đź’ˇWhy should I learn this? Scoring candidates during an interview is a best practice in structured interviewing. By scoring in real time your scores will be more accurate and less biased - this will also allow you to automatically populate a scorecard for your candidate.

Learn by watching this video or reading the instructions below.

Score questions during an interview

Scoring in real time is done in Hireguide’s live question app. Start by launching the question app, either from your calendar event or from Hireguide, and join your interview. Resize the app to fit your screen as desired.

Reference the interview guide to ask your interview questions. To score candidate responses:

  • Click an individual question
  • Reference the answer tips to assist in evaluating a candidate’s response to your question
  • Rate the candidate’s response on a scale of 1-5

Product Tip

🪄 Since Hireguide’s questions are skills-based, by rating an individual question you are actually scoring the skill associated with that question. These are stored as skill ratings, which automatically populate the scorecard for your candidate.

Take notes during an interview

Hireguide’s live question app also contains a notepad for you to take free-form notes during your interview if desired (pictured above).

Simply type in the notepad to record your assessment of a candidate’s response.

You can also tag special moments in the interview by using the Transcript Tags. You can bookmark a moment to revisit later, or you can click the thumbs up button to tag a positive moment and a thumbs down button to tag a negative moment. You can access these directly in the transcript after your interview.
