Use an interview template in a position

💡 Why should I learn this?  Using a pre-existing interview template as an interview guide saves you from having to create one from scratch for every round. You can import an existing guide from your template library which includes: 1) templates from your organization’s workspace, 2) guides you have created from previous interviews, and 3) community templates published by Hireguide.

Learn by watching this video or reading the instructions below.

Import a template to an interview round

Open your desired position page and select the relevant interview round. Underneath the round title, you will see a grey card containing information about your guide. To import a template:

  • Click the three dots to access the overflow menu
  • Click Replace with Template from the options in the overflow menu

This will bring you to a page where you can browse templates in your library.

  • Find and select your desired template from those in your library to preview the template
  • Click Use Template at the bottom of the screen

If you don’t need to edit the template content, you’re all set! The template is now your interview guide for that round of interviews.

Edit a template once imported into a round

If you would like to edit the content in the template for this particular interview round, you can edit the content in the same way you would if you had added individual questions.

Below the round title in the interview guide you will see a grey crayon icon. To edit the template:

  • Click the grey crayon icon
  • Your guide appears in the panel on the right side of your screen. Edit, delete, or add individual questions to tailor your guide to the round
  • Click Save at the bottom of your guide to save your edits
